Bring tokens to Midnight
Move NIGHT from Cardano, and USDM both ways through VIA.
Nightshade trades tokens that are on Midnight. Most NIGHT and dollars are on Cardano today, so here's how each one gets across, and back.

Do you need to bridge at all?
Often not:
- To pay fees, register your Cardano NIGHT for DUST instead of moving it.
- To buy in the SHADE sale, pay with NIGHT on Cardano (The SHADE sale). Your SHADE arrives on Midnight.
You need tokens on Midnight to trade on the book or provide liquidity.
NIGHT
Midnight's official bridge moves NIGHT from Cardano to Midnight, one way, from a wallet that supports it such as Lace. Community reports put it at 12 to 24 hours, with a small ADA fee on Cardano.
The way back, from Midnight to Cardano, isn't live yet. Midnight has said it comes in a later stage, with no date. Until then, NIGHT you bring to Midnight stays on Midnight (see Getting dollars out).
USDM
USDM is a dollar stablecoin on Cardano. VIA Labs moves it both ways between Cardano and Midnight; its guide describes the way out as burning USDM on Midnight and releasing it on Cardano once enough Cardano blocks confirm it. On Midnight it's a public token, so it trades on the Public Book, and it can be shielded into a private twin like any other.
To bring USDM in, open your wallet page on Nightshade and choose Bring USDM from Cardano, beside Send tokens. Connect a Cardano wallet such as Lace or Eternl, enter the amount, and sign. The USDM reaches your Midnight wallet once VIA's validators have seen the Cardano transfer, about 50 minutes on mainnet. The way back is VIA's command-line tool and SDK; its guide shows the steps. You pay DUST on Midnight and ADA on Cardano: keep several ADA in the Cardano wallet, since part of it is held as collateral while the transfer goes through.
Very little USDM is on Midnight so far, so expect the SHADE/USDM market to be thin at first.
Getting dollars out
Today, the way from Midnight to an exchange runs through USDM: trade for USDM on Nightshade, move it to Cardano with VIA, then swap or sell it there. Once the NIGHT bridge runs both ways, NIGHT can go straight back to Cardano and to any exchange that lists it.
